The site of Hargraves Nurseryland at 630 Old Northern Road, Dural, was bought by Sue and Ken Hargraves in 1971. It was 2 acres of blackberries and rubbish (10 truck loads). It had an old tennis court with radiata pine trees growing in it, and also the remains of old stables, as apparently it was the halfway house for horse drawn vehicles on their way from Parramatta to Wiseman’s Ferry.

The site has evolved over the years to the nursery you see today, one of Sydney’s best, from a sleepy little village in 1971, to a bustling suburb on the edge of the huge North West Sydney housing development in 2005.
